Main Aim: To improve the appearance of our villages and the quality of life.

We are looking to recruit new members to join our active committee.

What does the Civic Society do?

Its objectives are:

To preserve, develop and improve the amenities, environment and other features of the area which combine to make pleasing conditions in which to live and work.
To stimulate public interest in the care for the character, beauty, and history of the area and to encourage high standards of architecture and town planning in our area.

Main Aim is: To improve the appearance of our villages and the quality of life within them.

The Society has been very active in important local projects, either as the initiator or in providing help and assistance with:

Civic Society School Annual Awards Scheme
Civic Society Front Gardens Award Scheme
Station Pedestrian Access Ramp Project – campaign to re-open the ramp to help all train users, especially elderly and disabled people
Albrighton Development Action Group – successfully blocked the massive Care-Home development proposed by Jessups on the land adjacent to the station.
The formation of ‘Albrighton Flood Action Group’
Friends of Albrighton Swimming Pool Lottery which has saved the pool from closure.
Friends of Albrighton Railway Station – helping to improve the overall appearance of the station and its surrounds.
Campaigned to save the Listed but dilapidated Station building.
Provided the five planters in the High Street and outside the Parish Office and donated them to the Parish Council
Planted over 15,000 bulbs in various locations around the village comprising mainly daffodils, crocuses, and some snowdrops.
